chadders
In short the computer I'm working with fails to recognise my a HP 4110 printer. It doesn't even say it can't recognise it, it just does nothing which makes installing the software required to use the printer rather challenging.I don't care if it's a workaround that achieves the same solution or whether you can help me get windows to identify the printer to make installation easier but I would like to thank in advance for any assistance.Cheers. -pops-
I don't know about this particular model but most printers require the software and drivers to be installed BEFORE the printer is connected. From what you have written:It doesn't even say it can't recognise it, it just does nothing which makes installing the software required to use the printer rather challenging. It appears that you are connecting the printer and then expecting to install the software. andsome
Plenty of info on your printer on Google. Just enter the name. :D
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
-pops- is right; make sure that you follow the instructions in the manual that comes with the printer exactly.
-pops-
As a rider to what Pat has just written, I have just installed a HP all-in-one and the installation method was on a fold-out poster called the Setup Guide. The manual (called the User Guide) did NOT give installation instructions.
Boris
Step One: Install the all-in-one softwareWindows users must install the software before connecting the all-in-one to the computer. During the software installation, you will be instructed to connect the all-in-one to the computer.Open the HP Officejet 4100 series box and remove the software CD-ROM. Installation instructions as below ###After the files are copied to the hard drive, a message will appear prompting you to setup and connect the all-in-one.### The full instructions on installing the software are here :-http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...ocname=bpu00827
