freeNT
I have latest version of Symantec AntiVirus corporate. However, it will not install in NT Server. Which version of antivirus should I be looking for to install on my NT server? Is symantec a good choice? I have about 60 MBs free memory, 128 total. Perhaps there is some other product that is very good and light?
Scarecrow Man
Avast may work.Requirements:NT 4.0 - 486 processor, 64 MB RAM, 80 MB of free hard disk space, Service Pack 3 or higher installedhttp://www.avast.com/eng/server_edition.htmlOf course there are free anti-virus software solutions such as AVG which are quite good.http://free.grisoft.com/
andsome
Symantec is NOT a popular word on this forum. Too many have ditched anything to do with that company.
freeNT
Why why why? I'm using corporate client. Light and protects against viruses.
andsome
Much too invasive and a resource hog. Also the very devil to uninstall. For every one you find on here who actually likes Norton, you will find SEVERAL who won't have it anywhere near their computers.
Scarecrow Man
The Personal version of Norton Anti virus has been known to cause problems with Windows, and some versions cause problems with System Restore. The Corporate version of Symantec products is quite different, but still not recommended. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Stay away from Symantec products; almost everyone on this forum (and elsewhere) has a horror story to tell. If you decide to install anything Symantec, be sure that you have a full backup of your system first - it is the only way to recover from Symantec software.
