It reminds me of "the old days" when all computing was done via a black screen with white (or worse, green) text - yes, I am old enough to have worked with them.I do like the cartoons though!Conversely, the bright white on your other site is a bit too "in-yer-face" and, in my opinion, would benefit from being shaded. One other thing that I found slightly disconcerting was on the second site, and that was the grey outlines in the background staying still as I scrolled up and down.
