Coreper
hi,today windows started saying that i havent got any antivirus and firewall installedbut i DO have them installed: AV= AVG Free 7.5 [latest] FW= ZoneAlarm Pro [latest]i even reinstalled them, but that didnt matteri already did a scan with Spybot and Ad-Aware > found 3 threads, but not relating to this...so now my question is:how can i manually make windows "see" antivirus products? [via the registry]i know this is possible, but i cant remember how...i already tried searching google, but i only found crap about how to uninstall programs [especially Norton AV  ]

-pops-
Do the A/V and firewall work OK? If they do then ignore what Windows is telling you.I had a machine which had AVG installed and which did a scan every day without problems. Windows told me I had no anti-virus. Coreper
yeah, they work perfectlyi even reinstalled latest versions of both programs [which were the same versions, because i always kept them up-to-date]but i really hate windows telling me thisisnt there a way i can disable this? [disabling the process wont work > it comes back within a second]i know its possible through the registry, but i dont know how...
Scarecrow Man
Have a look:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883792It is up to the manufacturer to support Security Center, not the other way around. I do know that AVG is recognized, but I do not use ZoneAlarm so I cannot provide information for that program. You should make sure all your Security Center settings are correct. ithonicfury
Just go to Control Panel > Security Center and click "Change the way Security Center Alerts Me." and uncheck Virus Protection.I usually turn all of those off, or you could set the Security Center Process to Disabled (instead of just stopping it)
