AlanHo
The chief handicap of the blind is not the actual blindness, but the attitude of the fully sighted people towards them.--Helen Keller
andsome
Too true. It's the same with physically handicapped people. We had a neighbour with a delightful young son who was unfortunately confined to a wheelchair from a very early age, he unfortunately died aged 18. He was a highly intelligent lad and a pleasure to talk to, but people used to look over his head and ask his parents, "how is Andrew today", it must have been very upsetting for him. He was treated as an object, not a person.
