catgate
My friend who has the Garage business has damaged his dongle. At least that is how I believe the jargon has it. His particular dongle is a Belkin F8T012 and it has a serious looking bend in it. He uses it to allow a diagnostic machine to talk to a laptop upon which is a massive database.Despite all the evidence to the contrary he continues to see me as a computer guru and asked me if I could get him another one through the internet. Am I right in assuming that a dongle is a dongle is a dongle,( to paraphrase Dame Edith Snarkborgler or some other such noted philosopherer)? Or does each one have to have a specific identification? My simple mind suggests that the diagnostic machine will identify itself to the laptop and vice versa what ever is passing the message.
