Article in Daily Mail last saturday stating that the government are to review women's pensions who never paid the full stamp.

My bet is that Brown will make political capital out of this sooner, rather than later.

It will probably not cost the government all that much - women on tiny pensions who lack a partner or other financial support will already be in receipt of pension credit or whatever it is called nowadays. If their pension is increased, the pension credit will be commensurately reduced, so they will be no better off. But the government can claim the pension has been significantly increased for a bit of cheap political capital.
