After a friend’s daughter was big enough to ride on the back of his bicycle, he bought a specially designed child’s seat with a safety belt, had it professionally fitted and got her a proper little helmet. On the day of their first ride, he put her in the seat, made sure she was properly strapped in, double checked all the equipment, wheeled the bike to the end of the driveway, carefully looked both ways for any traffic and, swinging his leg up over the crossbar, accidentally kicked her right in the chin.......
