casey
I am replacing a mother board in an Acer computer which has a card reader in the front. What I need to know is can I connect it to a usb plug on the M/Board or does it require a special connector. The socket on the end of the cables matches the usb connector on the M/B.Thanks. -pops-
If it looks like a standard USB connector and it does connect with one then it will be that. The systems that "do their own thing" have connectors which are very different to anything else and cannot be confused.
casey
Thanks for that, it was just that the old board had two yellow plugs marked usb and one orange with no markings. All with the same configuration , one corner pin missing. Will give it a go.
Alan2273
Be careful that could be a firewire connection block.
casey
Thanks Allen but saw your post too late. If you were thinking of the orange connector, that was on the old board. Anyway have tried it now at it works O/K. Every thing seems to have gone straightforward, up and running. Thanks to you too -pops-
