any excel gurus here??

Recommended Posts

I know a little about excel but not enough to help me accomplish what I want to do right now. I want to make a sortable statistics tracking sheet, similar to what you would see on espn.com with various sports. A sheet where column A represents a player and columns B-Z represent specific stats. I want the ability to be able to sort the columns to show what player has the most in each stat. I know how to sort the columns from greatest to least however that just sorts that column. It doesn't adjust the whole sheet to show what player in column A has the most of that stat.

So basically if I sort any of columns B-Z, how do I get column A to follow suit to give an accurate account of who has what stats?? I greatly appreciate any advice given.

Would you give a bit more detail of what you are trying to do. Surely when use sort a selected block of data you - as you say - can sort in ascending/descending order on a particular collumn but within that block you can sort on several columns at once. For example a telephone you can sort in surname/street name/house number order. You can do this in any sequence. I'm beginning to thing you may be looking to write some Macros for more specialised sorting. 'Fraid I'm too rusty on writing those.
