nevada_larry
What is the max amount of memory that a 32 bit computer can access? What is the max amount of memory a 64 bit computer can access? Does Windows XP or Vista actually run faster with 64 bit OS, or just the 64 bit programs?I assume a 32 bit program running with a 64 bit windows OS, will not run any faster. What are your thoughts. Boris
As I understand it ......... a modern x86 CPU may use more than 4 GB of memory, utilizing PAE (Physical Address Extension), a 64-bit addressing mode. A device using DMA with 32-bit address bus is unable to address the memory above 4 GB.
