I.E 5.5 & I.E. 6

Recommended Posts

A friend has been given a W 98SE computer, it does not have INTERNET access. I tried to install Diskeeper Lite for him, but it will not run on I.E.4. I thought that I had found both I.E.5.5 and I.E.6 on line, and put them both on C.D. When I came to install however I received a message that the computer could not connect to the website for download, I had obviously only succeeded in downloading a set up file. Can anyone please direct me to a full download for both if possible, or at least one of them. Alternatively, I can supply my e mail address and accept an e mail with the full programs on.

MANY THANKS.

P.S. There are a multitude of sites on Google, and there appears to be no way of differentiating between a full down load and a download of the set up files only. :D :D :D

I don't remember if IE6 installs on W98, but if it does, try this first. I remember that IE55 was the worst, slowest, and buggiest browser I ever used. IE4 was fine, IE5 was fine, but IE55 was a monster! That was actually when I went back to Netscape.

Thanks Pat. Bearing in mind your comments, I will try version 6 first, as it did run on my version of W 98. In any case, he won't be using the program as a browser, as he has no INTERNET connection, it is just that Diskeeper Lite will not run on Internet Explorer 4.1 :D
