XP Pro - Windows Backup Utility

I've been having trouble finding a straight answer on this, so I thought I'd try here.

I have a user that needs to make backups of all his files, but his email pst files alone are more than can be stored on a single cd. Is the backup utility in XP Pro capable of spanning a bkf file across multiple CDs?

The facility included in Windows XP will not back up to an optical disk (CD or DVD). see http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/s...t_03july14.mspx

Personally, I would not use optical disks of any type for backing up as I have found them unreliable and prone to corruption and/or physical damage. Hard drives are relatively cheap and, by choice I would use an independent program (I use Acronis) and write the data on to separate, dedicated hard drive. I have two machines with internal backup drives and one with an external.

The whole beauty of Acronis is that a complete mirror image of the hard drive is created, and the hard drive can then be formatted and the mirror image installed all within the hour, depending on size. I keep my mirror image on a USB plug in hard drive. :D
