Lots of hardware interrupts

Ok, I seem to have a problem here. I've been noticing some consistent behavior these past few days.

I've been getting loads of hardware interrupts and the computer is becoming really slow, frequently getting irresponsive by merely right-clicking on something. Disk operations are extremely slow and thats when interrupts peak.

And I don't even know what these "things" are!

How do I fix?

I researched and found out some things. It seems that I've been experiencing an interrupt storm. Which is either caused by harddrive or by my network driver...

Who knows :)

Are there any hopes for fixing this without reinstalling? Because I don't wanna stall anymore, this is frustrating enough as it is. If I need a clean reinstall just tell me. Otherwise please provide me with a solution.

Yea, I know about this page, found it too. Its interesting, but its for software developers and I have no particular use for it.

The red part are the Hardware Interrupts (the green part is my Distributed Computing proggy, its supposed to use unused processor time, don't pay attention to it :) )

If your problems are hardware related, reinstalling as many times as you like won't make any difference at all. That article seemed to imply that most causes of a interrupt storm are hardware related. If it was my computer I would let a computer expert check the hardware. :D
