graphicsgirl
I am buying a new PC. I can get it with XP or Vista. I've heard mixed reviews about Vista (I've never used it). Will Vista be compatible with my old, reliable HP 2600 Color laser printer, for example? What about my software? Quark Xpress, Photoshop, my existing versions of Excel and Word? Thanks for any input. :)
Boris
There appear to be Vista drivers for the HP 2600N :)http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechS...p;swEnvOID=2093

Mike567
It depends upon what you want it for.I think general desktop work vista is good for some people. But if you want a lot of apps etc XP is still better due to compatibility issues with vista. catgate
The current feeling in the computer world seems to be "keep clear of Vista". There are many brave souls who have plunged, and come up smiling, but there seem to be far more who are less than happy..
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I am very happy with my current XP system, but if I were to buy a new PC, then I would probably not get it loaded with an (almost) outdated operating system. I would get Vista, or even wait a few months for Vienna (Windows 7).
ideas
I am very happy with my current XP system, but if I were to buy a new PC, then I would probably not get it loaded with an (almost) outdated operating system. I would get Vista, or even wait a few months for Vienna (Windows 7).I bought a desktop with Vista a couple of months ago. I was really desappointed by the performance. I friend of mine show me Ubuntu and I decided to install it. It was such a great experience that I will probably never desinstall it. The 3D user interface is very impressive from my point of view especially as compared to AERO.
