Acronis - what's the difference?

Recommended Posts

I have Acronis True Image (Home) version 9 installed. I have noticed that a version 10 has come and gone, and now there is a version 11 available.

However, nowhere on the Acronis site can I find what the difference between these versions are. Anybody knows? Anybody knows if there is any advantage of upgrading my version 9 to 10 or 11?

Usually I know such things, because software makers publish version histories. However, I have been looking in vain for an Acronis version history.

Is it to accommodate Vista?

I have version 8 on my main machine and v 10 on my "video" machine (both XP). For all practical purposes there is no discernible difference between the two so I certainly won't be changing to v 11 until or unless I promote to Vista - which is doubtful at present.

I had to upgrade to V11 for it to work on Vista properly. Version 10 did after a fashion - but had a habit of not finding external USB drives on a restore.

Also, the latest version has other disc utilities built in which may have been there before - but perhaps I never noticed them.
