catgate
It happens that both management and I are, like 101.5% of the population, on NHS drugs designed and prescribed to make fortunes for the Drug companies. We only get one month's supply at a time, presumably so that the surgery, who make up the prescriptions can claim a monthly fee (but of course it is for our Safety)Well, with the last parcel was a leaflet telling of this new system, whereby, if we make arrangements through the receptionist at the surgery, we can henceforth arrange routine appointments and repeat prescriptions "through the 'net".Today, I took a repeat prescription request up to the surgery, for management, and said to the receptionist "Now how about this internet thing?"."Oh yes, just a minute I will do it for you." So she gave her key board a serious "seeing to" and then walked to the other end of the office and came back back with two pieces of paper." There, that's yours," she said, "and I will post your wife's to her.""What? Post it to her?""Yes I know, but it's this Data Protection thing."Beam me up, Scotty! andsome
Our local chemists shop is next door to the doctors surgery. They automatically apply for a repeat at the doctors surgery a few days before we run out. All we have to do is collect the made up prescription. I believe that a lot of doctors and chemists have a similar arrangement. :D
