Hello allgomas, welcome to the forum. :D

I wonder of you have the setting for the Measurement Units set incorrectly?

If you go to: Tools, Options, select the General Tab, then check which unit if measurement you have selected (it could be inches, centimeters, millimeters. points or picas).

On second thoughts....To the left of the font name, is Style. Have you inadvertantly changed that from Normal?

Welcome alggomas, someone is bound to help you here but please don't use all capitals in your posts. It's called shouting and is not acceptable.

I think the poster has touched CapsLock by mistake, whithout noticing it. This happens when people watch the keyboard while typing, instead of the monitor.

Anyway, could it be the Zoom percentage in Word, being (much) higher than 100%?

allgomas, which fonts are you using?

Some fonts require a much higher pitch than others, to reach the same size.

e.g. Kunstler Script

Alternatively, if you touch Help on the top standard toolbar, then Detect and Repair, you could perhaps correct any program error which may have occurred. (This might require you insert the original CD, so it would be useful to have it available before you begin).

To Doug, Irene and Doreamon :

Thanks for your help.I was looking at your answers and then openeing Word and remembered that I was making a poster. On the top right hand side of Word is a % thing. so I moved it back to 100% and lo! and behold! back to normallity.

Silly really.

Thanks again for your help.

Alggomas.

The simple answers are usually too obvious to spot! :D
