Games Shrinking to task bar

can anyone explain why for some reason games are starting to shrink to the task bar in full screen mode and pause in windowed mode every time the task bar clock hits the hour? i have to automated clock correction installed or set.

It sounds like one of your installed programs is set to automatically run every hour.

When it happens bring up task manager (Control/Alt/Delete) and see what processes are running.

The only time I have seen that happen (but not on the hour) is with an antivirus program.

i use AVG anti virus, Zone alarm Firewall/anti spyware

other that that there isnt anything unusal running in the task manager, 7 svhosts, (aavgamsvr.exevg, avgcc.exe, avgupsvc.exe- AVG stuff), tcpsvcs.exe, vsmon, winlogon, csrss.exe and my epson printer software

its ok now, looks like zone alarm was at fault. i needed to enable 'Game Mode' on it to resolve the problem (hopefully)
