Geordie
I use the Computer selection all the time to display lists of files in folders, just as I used to use it in My Computer on XP. But the display is incomplete on Vista -- for example the date column is empty, and I can't see how to display the file extension, which means that I can't sort the list on those fields. These are such obvious no-brainers that I guess I must be missing something equally obvious. The ? icon just gets me an irrelevant comment about the Pictures folder, which I never use in any case. I've a feeling Vista thinks that all the files are photos, which they are not, because the heading on the (empty) date column says Date taken.Someone please put me out of my misery. How can I get a simple complete Details display of folder contents as in XP?

Geordie
Thanks to Irene and Maneman. I now have the file extension displayed, but the Date taken column is still unnaccountably empty. And why it says Date taken for non-image files in any case remains a mystery.
