Applications are not covered by System Restore.The page file is not covered by System Restore either, as it is basically recreated every time Windows starts up. It doesn't need to be on a single volume either; you can have it spread over multiple partitions. But that's up to your specific environment. MANEMAN Posted March 24, 2008 Report Share Posted March 24, 2008 A lot of the pics,and adverts are now done with "Flash" could it be that this is now missing or corrupt ?Also check for ActiveX 's with the same problems.Cant think of anything else at the moment, had a late lunch, too much chocky easter egg, 2-glasses of Port. In both cases you should to uninstall the old versions, if they're still there. You can do that from Add/Remove programmmes.After you've got them running again, you might want to check with the Secunia Personal Software Advisor (free) that you have all the latest secure updates for Flash, Java & other software. Apologies for the break in comms - I was attempting to ski for the first time (at age 40 ) in the beautiful French Alps! great to be in the mountains - and with no broken bones :D I have tried everything you have suggested but the red blobs are still there I am wondering now whether it may have something to do with my new Antivirus / Firewall / Spyware etc software that was installed about the same time (I think - cannot exactly remember). This is called PCGuard and is provided by my Broadband provider Virgin media. (I changed from NTL to Virgin software following the demise of NTL). Does anyone have any more ideas??? Help!
