If you have an original Vista DVD and product key the answer is yes.

You could also invest in a second internal hard drive or an external USB hard drive and Acronis True Image software to take a full backup of your system and all data files. Make sure your boot priority in the BIOS settings are to boot from your CD/DVD drive first, then your hard drive.

Create a recovery CD using Acronis (or if you have Acronis on a CD this will do the job).

Create a backup of your system - repeat this at regular intervals to keep up with changes on your computer.

In the future, if your computer fails you will be able to boot from the Acronis recovery disc and recover the system from your backup on the other hard drive.
