AlanHo Posted April 1, 2008 Report Share Posted April 1, 2008 I have a CD-R disc on which I burned a number of utilities to carry with me when I am asked to help friends with computer problems. After creating the disc I closed - or finished it - whatever the correct terminology is - using Nero to allow me to use it on other computers.Today I went to burn a copy of a programme onto a CD-R - got "muxed ip" - and put my Utilities disc into the burner by mistake rather than a blank disc.It added the new file to the disc using the Vista burning software no problem - without over writing any existing stuff.I am now a little confused - the CD-R had been previously closed and I am under the impression that you could then not add further files later.Can someone clarify this conundrum - if indeed it is one............... ONLY compatible with newer hardware.Closed Disc - The entire disc is finalized, thus making it readable by any device.
