ma501th
I was wondering is it possible to have two routers in one house using the one ISP telephone line? as long as the filters been applied?
-pops-
Why two routers? One router will serve several computers.Note that the filters on the line are for the analogue (telephone) signal not the broadband.
Scarecrow Man
Technically it would be possible, by bridging the two network connections of a PC together.A router can serve 253 devices. If you have more than 253 devices, you may want to look at other options besides another router, such as a DHCP server.
ced
its also possible to hook up the second router to one of the first router's LAN ports. im running currently at home the following configuration:-Modem->Hub->win2003 server with DHCP/DNS/NAT->Linksys router-> rest of network computers \->Backup router->(if needed) rest of the network. (will be slower)(me and my family only ownes like 7 pc's, but dont worry, i also use my server to run a gamesserver, monitor my room from a website, watch streaming TV from my website, stream my music collection, etc. )

Have tried it when my son bought a PS3 and wanted internet connection. My ADSL router only has 1 plug-in so he bought another off ebay (bargain £6 for a week old Netgear 834? I think). Anyway tried connecting with both, no good. Fortunately his Netgear has 4 inputs so I've just got to make up a lead long enough from his room to the one next door.
