Drive letter problem

Recommended Posts

my computer was in a lab to get fixed,

and now that it is back i have noticed that the drive which was named D before, is now called G.

i tried changing the letter back to D through manage disk, but there were only letters G-Z.

anyway, all programs that were installed into D now does not work because their path is not set right to G.

is there a way to return the original letter of the drive, or change all the program's path to G instead of D?

thank you very much!

What is D allocated to ?.

Try This.

This will not work if your main operating system is on the 'D' drive.

If it is an optical drive, open disk management, RIGHT click on the 'D' drive, Left click on 'Change drive letters and paths', click remove, then OK the safety message, then click 'ADD', and select a free letter from the drop down box, this will then free up the 'D' drive.
