Run an online scan on http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ - try v6.6 as it is faster than v6.5Next, do you have any unusual and unneeded startup items? Install and run Startup Inspector to see what you have in your startup. Use the 'Consult' button to get more information on each item. Don't remove unneeded entries, just uncheck them (the use the 'Apply' button).Ask here if you are unsure about any of the startup items. Dencandy Posted May 18, 2008 Report Share Posted May 18, 2008 If none of these solutions get your computer working properly it may be because msvcrt.dll has been damaged or accidentally deleted. A registry cleaner will not normally replace or repair a damaged or deleted dll. By the way, zmejce, a dll is a sort of mini-programme necessary for the functioning of part of a larger programme. Doing System Restore to before the problem arose might solve the problem, so you could try that next.If you go here you will find some Microsoft advice on this problem. Alternatively go to Microsoft Help and Support and type msvcrt.dll into the Search box and you will get more advice. I think you will probably need your original Windows CD to repair this problem.P.S. I've re-read your post and it reads like you can't logon in the normal way. In which case you can still use Safe Mode. Is that correct? Pleas give more details, e.g. can you log on at all, if so, what happens?
