.dll file extension

Recommended Posts

I.e. a dll runs automatically as part of Windows, or should do. Are you having problems with one? If so they can usually be repaired. One way is by running Scannow or you can go to the Microsoft Help & Support website and type in the full dll name into the search box. You'll get various bits of advice on repairing damaged dlls. Come back here if you need more help.

...or any application that is designed with dynamic link libraries, rather than hard-linked into one big, fat executable. You can of course call any entry point of a dll from your own applications, but you cannot "execute" a dll per se (it's a library of functions).
