x-bittorent not found message

Recommended Posts

Have received an e-mail from a friend in Canada asking for help.

When receiving e-mails with an attachment he gets an error message stating "x-bittorrent not found" and he is unable to open the attachment.

I have searched online for some answers. It appears to be quite a common problem which is probably caused by infected files received from a P2P program. It would also appear to be a problem for those who use Incredimail as their e-mail program as my friend does.

As stated, this appears to be a common problem but nowhere can I find anyone who has got an answer how to eradicate it.

Has anyone had this problem and resolved it?

Dave

My personal view is that anyone using P2P programs is exposing themselves to many risks, I have seen it so often.

First of all I suggest that your friend does several scans with different anti-malware programs such as are suggested in our security section. Choose the free ones.
