blackcivic Posted June 11, 2008 Report Share Posted June 11, 2008 I have a HP server with intel core extreme processor, with 4gb ram and windows 2003 for the O.S and our drives are setup for a raid(4 drives)... problem i am having is the OS doesn't boot up. It gets to the point where it loads the windows logo and the progress bar with the black screen and it just stays there at the progress bar.We know the hardware is fully intact because the raid controller passes through successfully. We did memory checks and re-positioned the memory and it still doesn't work.We tried to do a windows repair but don't have the administrators password as it was setup by another employee that is no longer with the company. We even went as far as trying to re-install the O.S on top of the existing one, with no luck, and doing a quick, and full format with no luck still. We are fairly certain the problem pertains to a Operating System problem, however in light of the events it's just not working.Does anyone here either know of a way to bypass the administrators password, or reset it. Whilst such a request may be perfectly legitimate there are times when discussions on this topic can be used for an illegitimate reason. Windows Forum does not have the ability to determine the validity of any request and therefore we cannot allow such discussion on this topic. If that works, copy all your important data to external media then reinstall.If you can't start in Safe Mode you'll need to consult a recovery expert (not handled by this Forum, I'm sure).Or contact your former employee.Or start from scratch & install a new version of the OS.
