Leonard Posted June 18, 2008 Report Share Posted June 18, 2008 In W2k SP4 IE6 SP1, shut down is a series of sub-shutdowns------Connection Tray, Fax Monitor, Card Reader Lookup, CS Notifications etc none of which I'm aware of having on, in Task manager or Services. Sometimes shutdown requires Reset back to Windows and having to run Shutdown again. Anti virus /adware and Kapersky and Hijackthis show no intrusions and Regcure was ran to zero errors.My W2k CD is SP2 so even with SP3 and Sp4v2 stored there are dozens of updates to load when the stored AVG and Zonealarm are not fully updated and offer imperfect protection---If I try an O/S reload.Any ideas---Please Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

These were originally on IE6, but firefox, HP Scanner etc all are generating errors.I also ran RegCure until no errors were found, but back it all comes.I do not think a W2k SP2 CD will run repair on an SP4 O/S??I wonder if Mr. Gates has any ideas on retirement, but I guess W2K will have been forgotten by nowRegards Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
