MacOSXrocksToo
Hello, I was wondering if there is a wakeonlan program built into windows so that I can wake up another windows computer on my network. If there is not a program built into windows like this, what is a good freeware program I can download and use that will run in he background, so that I can wake up another computer on my network if I wanted to?Thanks! :D
-pops-
If available on your machine, the various "wake-up" settings are part of the power management setup in the BIOS.
Mike567
Yeah, it can only be done in the BIOS.
Scarecrow Man
Sometimes the driver also contains a WakeOnLan feature which can be enabled through the device properties in the Control Panel. This often coincides with the BIOS setting.
MacOSXrocksToo
ok, Thanks guys, I just enabled it, by right clicking on my network connection then choosing, "Properties", then somewhere in there I found power management, and I chose, "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby". I also found a program called WOL that I can install on the computer Im not trying to wake up, to wake the other one up.
