The first, is the very popular and easy to use ZoneAlarm. Easy to setup and maintain, set it to allow a program and it does its thing. Easy to read logs, and has a good team behind it. Get it at | http://www.zonelabs.com Next up there is my personal favourite and my 'baby' Kerio Personal Firewall. Soon to be upgraded to version 4, version 2.1.5 is the most clean, lightweight and powerful firewall available for free. They missed out version 3 btw. Not for the n00b though! Get it here | http://www.kerio.comKerio Help SiteSygate Personal Firewall is our third one. Powerful and useful, this firewall is praised in strength and capability. With the option of plugins, some installed by default, it is unique. Solid firewall. Get it at | http://www.agnitum.comSpyware ProtectionFor spyware I strongly suggest running All or Most of these. Ad-Aware 6 is updated regularly and catches alot of spyware that rsides on your system. Also finds a few keyloggers. Get it at | http://www.lavasoft.deSpybot Search & Destroy is the most feature packed of the lot. It finds usage tracks, spyware, cookies, adware, a few keyloggers, trojans and dialers. Top program! Get it at | http://www.spybot.infoSpywareBlaster prevents spyware through cookies, and Active-X. Another top freeware prodcut updated regularly. I am using sygate at the moment and it is free for home use. the same goes for Zonealarm that I have used in the past.
