Outgoing Email Problems

Hello Everyone,

Would appreciate some constructive advice on the following problem, which is driving me nutty.

My internet provider is Sky.com, 12 months ago it was Virgin before I switched.

I use Windows XP.

I use Googlemail for most of my Documents and most emails, occasionally use outlook express via sky.com.

I have also last week spoken to sky configured my servers as per their instructions over the phone etc.

I can send and recieve emails no problems via sky or googlemail.

HOWEVER!

I have a Business Letterhead Template on my Desktop which I wish to send to clients and type details on etc,

the problem is everytime I attempt to send an email a windows live box appears which surprises me because I thought a outlook express box should appear, any when I fill in the recipient email address in and send the following message appears, BUT also the error comes from Virgin.net who I thought we had got rid of.

THE MESSAGE CANNOT BE SENT.

THE AUTHENTICATION SETTING MIGHT NOT BE CORRECT FOR YOUR OUTGOING SMTP SERVER.

SERVER ERROR 544.

I have spoken again to sky and they seem to think everything is set up at their end, and to be honest not much help after that, spoke to some guy called Albert in India! obviously not his real name.

Any help would be appreciated.
