The maximum total RAM that can beused will be something less than 4 GB, and the largest VIRTUAL memorythat can be used by a program is 2 GB.Go to Windows 64 and your 32-bit programs still can only use 2 GBVIRTUAL memory, but the total RAM will be larger.Be sure you realise that when I talk about RAM and virtual memorythese are not interchangeable terms, but entirely different things.Sorry, I am jast artist and want uderstand "how much I can win" with 64-bit "against" 32-bit XP or Vista. If you buy 64bit Windows, most of your programs will still be 32 bit programs. Thisincludes everything in CS4.64 bit programs, to use more than 2 GB of virtual memory, are stillrare and unusual, and Adobe don't make any at all.This reply make Me careful. So, there is your limit with 32-bit. If you want/need more, then you will need a 64-bit processor and operating system.Application programs, especially if they are written in 32-bit code, are limited to a total memory of 2GB (regardless whether it is in real or virtual memory).
