Boris Posted August 20, 2008 Report Share Posted August 20, 2008 IMHO ................ you should only ever need to update your BIOS if it gives you an essential new feature which was not previously supported on your motherboard (and you must have).You could end up with a dead board if something goes wrong in the process.Not all BIOS updates are necessary, but for the real hardware enthusiast, obtaining the latest BIOS may equate to better performance Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As Boris intimates, you can easily end up with a box of useless junk if it goes wrong.Unless you really need to update the BIOS, don't!
