Scarthy © ® ™ Posted October 1, 2008 Report Share Posted October 1, 2008 Here's my bit :- Just ask the callers "where did you get my number from?" - When they make their excuse tell them "because this number is TPS registered!" and watch them squirm/rudely hang up.It's worth becoming TPS registered as it removes your number from the database that companies use and also think about becoming ex-directory as this also stops you being added to future lists. In a few months you should see a reduction in the number of calls and also stop giving your number on forms etc. and replace it with "x-dir" or "01234 123456" as companies sell your information to each other and remember to tick the boxes at the bottom of forms that say "NOT" to share your information with 3rd parties etc.It's the same online with site sign-ups and quotes sites etc. Watch what you put and where = SPAM!!!Hope this helps;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Scarthy, I have no intentions of picking up the calls - my phone is on 'answer machine' - I always vet my calls on the internal line.Looks like I'm stuck with them then........
