Dencandy
Driver Max has been recommended on this forum in the past so I downloaded it to my Laptop & started to use it. I still have AVG 7.5 on the Laptop & when it came to running the installer for the first downloaded driver, AVG immediately stopped the process & warned me that the file was infected with the virus Win32/Polipos.Anyone else had this warning regarding Driver Max, & is it a false positive? Dencandy
Yes, it looks quite nasty, so I immediately uninstalled Driver Max. AVG prevented it from running & installing itself. But I'm wondering if anyone else who uses Driver max has had this warning?
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I have been using DriverMax (currently v4.5) for quite a while without any problems.Looking at http://www.download3k.com/Antivirus-Report-DriverMax.html it looks like a false positive. Dencandy
The virus warning was flagged up either on the exe program that downloads the driver or on the driver itself, not on the main DriverMax utility as such. I tried it twice and got the same warning from AVG. Not wishing to take chances I decided to delete everything to do with Driver Max.
