Hb_Kai
I've just only now realized that I can't get to the recycle bin! It's nowhere to be found. Is there a directory I can get a shortcut from to put it on my desktop?I've tried searching Google and all I can find is dir /A which is to view the files from a CMD prompt, but that isn't what I want. :(I've tried also making a new shortcut on the desktop to the recycle bin but that didn't quite work out, also setting the shortcut to C:\RECYCLER but neither did that.Do I have to mess around with the HKEY settings or something? If I do, anyone know how? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Windows XP had a great power toy called TweakUI. One if its functions was to decide what icons should appear on the desktop. But from your profile I see that you are on Vista, which seems not to have any power toys. But I believe some 3rd-party power toys for Vista are around somewhere; google again. Hb_Kai
That was when I was using my mum's pc all the time. Now I'm using a laptop which runs Windows XP Home.Should I just find that program and download it?
Alan2273
Try this, right click your desktop---click properties---click desktop---click customize desktop---bring the slider along to see if the recycle bin empty/full icons are in there---click restore defaults---click OK---click apply---click OK. Hb_Kai
The icons were in there but nothing happened when I clicked restore defaults.
Hb_Kai
I've found this way.Desktop>New Folder, rename new folderRecycle Bin.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}But it doesn't work like the original recycle bin. It's half a folder, half recycle bin. Some deleted items were there but the icon didn't change because it had files in there, does anyone know how to change that or if clearing this recycle bin, have I actually deleted stuff or just moved them somewhere else?Seems there is more to the recycle bin than I thought. :(
