email problems

Hi, I had to do a system restore on my computer. And this put every thing back to the factory setting. My O/S is Vista.

Now,when I try and send an email with an attachement it tells me that there are errors.

I have listed them here:The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly.

Subject 'Emailing: 100_0599', Account: 'POP3', Server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

I had problems with both POP3 and SMTP. I think that I have sorted out the POP3 problem and now I need to sort out the SMTP problem.

There was a problem with POP3 but not 100% sure if this problem has been sorted out. Does the information above tell this.

Can anyone help me.

Thanks

Can I first say that I'am new to computers.

Not sure what you mean about email prog.

My O/S is Vista. For the internet I have installed Mozilla Firefox. When I got the computereverything was set up for me.

I can send emails with attchments when I'am on the internet. When I go into my "pictures" and try and send a pictuer,it ask's me what size I want to send, which I tell it,then I just tells me about those errors.

Not sure if this helps you
