Hb_Kai
Does anyone know a good free firewall?
-pops-
I use the old Sygate it was taken over by Symantec and killed off because, probably, it was better than their own effort but, it may still be possible to get the old version. It still works fine for me, even though it's oldHere you are:http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=sygatehttp://www.filehippo.com/download_sygate_personal_firewall/http://www.tucows.com/preview/213160

Hb_Kai
Ok, thanks. It seems to be prompting for my permission for everything I'm connecting to the internet with now so it seems to be doing its job. :DBut, I just had to block something...IPv6 Driver trying to connect from a Remote Machine (or something similar) IP Address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxI searched it on a whois site and it said it's the Asia Pacific Network Information CentreWhois SearchI think I posted about this once before, not too sure.I've never heard about the APNIC, never seen it before in my life.Is this right?I blocked it anyway just to make sure but the IPv6 Driver is the bit I'm thinking about more.Isn't it something to do with Wireless P2P something or other? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I searched it on a whois site and it said it's the Asia Pacific Network Information CentreWhois SearchI think I posted about this once before, not too sure.I've never heard about the APNIC, never seen it before in my life.APNIC is the super-regional network information center for Asia-Pacific; it carries most of the data from the country-level network information centers like JPNIC, CNNIC, KRNIC, TWNIC, etc.The data from your query comes from twnic.net, and points to HINET, the biggest Taiwan ISP.Now what can you do with this info? Nothing, actually. Still, it is sometimes useful to know where an IP address is from. To know more detailed where an IP address is located geographically, you can use http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm?GetLocation
