Cassie Posted November 28, 2008 Report Share Posted November 28, 2008 Long story short, I have an old laptop I'm trying to install Windows 95 on. When I used the boot disk, it told me it had to format the hard drive. Fine, I restarted, and it said something like "Formatting C, 0%" Then it gave me an error message sayign it can't do it because it "encountered an error while formatting drive C:" So, I figured I'd format it for it. I booted a linux distro from a Live CD and formatted the hard drive in FAT 16 formatNow, I try Setup again. It does the exact same thing, trying to format the hard drive.Now is this just a bad boot disk or am I doing something wrong?Thank You! Cassie Posted November 28, 2008 Author Report Share Posted November 28, 2008 Alright, I finally got it to work and install.But, the problem now is, it seems like it can't find the partition I installed it to on bootup. It still asks for a boot disk, and when I put in the boot disk, it tries to go through setup all over again.Did something happen during the installation process, or can it really not find the partition?
