Another Acronis question.

I have previously used Acronis 8. Now however I have Acronis 2009. When I go through the procedure of creating an image I get a window as shown below. To date I have made several images, and have deleted these offered options to ignore certain things. I have successfully in stalled the resultant image with no problem at all. Just what does this message mean? Have I done right in ignoring it? As I have installed the resultant images and everything seems to be OK, what difference would it have made had I not ignored the options offered?

All it means is that the image you have made has ignored any of the 3 sorts of "temp" files, and also has not included any previous .tib (True Image backup) files which were in the partition you imaged.

Thanks, but in fact I chose to delete the tick, so that means that I have included thosse files, or does it? Does it matter either way? :D

I too use Acronis 2009 and leave the bottom tick in place so that I do not back up temporary files or Acronis tib backups (not that they exist on my C: or D: drives because tib files are elsewhere and I use CCleaner immediately before taking a backup which should remove all temp files).

By removing the tick you will have backed up all temporary files and tib files (if they exist on the partition you backed up) - thus making your backup file bigger than necessary.

Still usable though.

Thanks folks. I know it's usable, as I tried it out. I will delete them next time. :D
