Use VLC (videolan.org) or Winamp (winamp.com). They both play many formats "out-of-the-box" and offer better functionality with less hardware demands. Or, is WMP set as your default music player? It probably is but it might be something to check. If it is, then it could be that you may have to reinstall it. -pops- Posted January 18, 2009 Report Share Posted January 18, 2009 I have three computers and WMP11 is a nuisance on each of them - so much so that I no longer use it.In my case(s) instead of being the "all things to all men" media player it is a "nothing to anyone" media player.Instead of WMP I use GOM Player or WinAmp.http://www.gomlab.com/eng/http://www.winamp.com/If you are short of codecs go to:http://www.codecguide.com/ and select the k lite pack most appropriate for you.All of the above are free downloads.
