Problem with favorites - They don't show up in IE!

Hi all,

I have a problem with my favorites in IE which has been bugging me for ages!

My favourites just don't show up at all. I have a bar of links, and none of those show up either. My favorites folder is saved in c:\Documents and Settings\Ian\Favorites. When I click on that, it comes up with all my bookmarks, but they don't show up in IE. Even when I am on a page in IE, I will 'add to favorites', but nothing happens.

Please help, it is driving me mad!!

Many thanks,

Ian.

Try resetting the system attribute from the CMD window using the following command (make sure the path to the username is correct for your machine).

ATTRIB -S C:\Documents and Settings\username\Favorites /S /D

Thanks for the reply. It keeps saying 'parameter format not correct'. I amt typing it in exactly how you have said (substituting by username in). Any ideas why this is?

Thanks.

The command given by Boris is correct. Make sure you have all the spacings correct. The best way to do it is copy and paste the command and then substitute your username.

ATTRIB -S C:\Documents and Settings\username\Favorites /S /D

If that doesn't work then re-install/repair IE.

ian182, after you've tried Boris & -pops- suggestion, and if you still haven't solved the problem, check that you have all your toolbars enabled. Looking at your screen-shot you seem to have no toolbars at all apart from the address bar. Right click in the blank tool bar & make sure that there's a tick against Menu Bar (by left clicking on it). You can also do the same with the other toolbars if you want them visible.
