Chris
I know I'm dumb - but how do you guys insert a graphic into your posts. Can you insert - or paste - a jpg file off your hard disk ?When you post a reply. Scroll down the page until you reach File Attachments You may attach a file to this message.Maximum file size: 500k Click on the BROWSE and find the file you wish to attach. Then when you post the message. The graphic will be added. You can also insert from another website by clicking the IMG button up at the top. When you post the message the image will be grabbed and will appear here.
AlanHo
PowerlessI tried that. I browsed to a jpg file on my hard disc - size 96Kb and the full file location address appeared in the attachment window. When I clicked "Preview post" or "Add a Reply" I get a message that says"You must enter a message to post"Hence the file is shown as present in the attachment window but will not display. AlanHo
Powerless and bvw in BristolSorry to be a bother but I have followed your instructions to the letter - and still no graphic shows depite the file address being shown in the little attachment window. Same old message - "You must enter a message to post".I have tried jpg, gif and bmp files - all less than 500k - to no avail.I have put files directly onto the C: drive and not in a sub-directory in case the address was too long.I have tried putting in some text and then adding the attachment.I have shut down the computer and rebooted in case something was not quite right, crossed my fingers and swore - all to no avail.Any ideas what might be wrong. AlanHo
Oops - it worked at last. It seems that putting the file in the root directory helped.
Agent Smith
just a quick note Alan1937, but the images do not appear in the preview selection. Also you cannot just add an image, you will need to enter some text to the post and a title for the post.Mr. M.
AlanHo
Thank you guysI got there in the end - it was the lack of seeing the graphic in the preview that was fooling me.
Agent Smith
Alan, as you may be able to see in my last post, instead of uploading an image, I put a link to it in my text. This has the advantage of allowing you to insert a picture between text and does not have the "attached images" message and border. It is also beneficial to the forum, because it will not use up the connection bandwidth for our server (although in this case it makes no difference, because the image is already on our server).Mr. M.
