Other than that, WinPatrol will manage this and other stuff.And I'm not too sure about the other thing and Windows 2003 too as I've never used it. It sees much more startup items than msconfig, and it also gives you advice and info on many applications (by using the 'Consult' button). Baderup Posted February 19, 2009 Report Share Posted February 19, 2009 May I add, that people in general need to be very cautious when installing applications/programs. Most people I'm sure just keep clicking next,next,next,next until they get to finish.Almost every time you install something they will have it set to quick launch, it is very easy to uncheck that and not have that enabled. And so after you install 10 or so programs, you got 10 or more programs starting up when the computers loads!! And people wonder why their computers take 5min to turn on and start up!! I laugh every time I see the quick launch bar at the bottom and it stretches halfway to the start button! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Baderup Posted February 19, 2009 Report Share Posted February 19, 2009 Also if you do use MSConfig, also download "MSConfig Clean Up" It'll wipe out all the unchecked apps and will allow the computer to go back to normal startup rather than selective. Sometimes if you uncheck an app in startup it will "recheck" itself next you load the computer too, so using MSConfig clean up will totally get rid of it!
