Gordon Posted March 4, 2009 Report Share Posted March 4, 2009 Hello, I am using Safari 3.2.2 for Windows (Great browser by the way). This browser works perfect in Xp but in Vista it seems to have some imperfections. The thing is, if Safari is running the system bottom bar can be no longer used, is sort of stucks and does not respond to clicks not even mouse move. Any other program running at the same time as Safari is just fine no issues there. Also the cool Vista aero windows swopping stops working and so does task manages (accessed via CTRL ALD DELETE).Once I shut down Safari everything is back to normal. No sign of any issues. I am not sure this occurs only in case of 3.2.2 I will try downgrade to 3.2.1 never had issues with that. Anyone experienced this before? Have you? If I had such a computer how come I stated Vista before? Have you?goes, there are those on here who would say that all web browsers are incompatible with M$ except IE(4 to 8).Perhaps a bit of a spring clean into all the corners may get rid of some stuff. My older laptop couldn't handle Firefox, IE, Safari, especially Chrome - It could only just about handle SeaMonkey. The majority of computer programs handle data obviously from the computer and is I think mainly stored in svchost.exe which is how the computer handles its data. If the browser is locking your taskbar or making windows explorer stop from what it would seem, there may be a problem with how the browser is handling its data. Which is why I mentioned compatibility...That's what I think it is as I can't think of anything else...Actually there may also be some kind of confliction like Chrome has with the .NET Framework. I would also go with the problem of data handling.Funny thing about it is that it also occurs only time to time. I am suspicious that this may occur only a little while after boot up at least it has showed up just by that time. Now running the comp. a few hours and no problem so far. Why use old alpha versions when a much newer beta is available?P.S. also, there is a general release 3.2.2 available; you should use this, not alpha software. Gordon Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Share Posted March 5, 2009 Sorry I meant the final releases not ALPHA versions, I must have confused that.Well to be honest. I dont really like the new Safari 4 (beta). The look is too much Vista and the rendering of text and images is so much different. I like it the way it is in the old version 3.
