Tankus
It seems that the USA's problems with an outdated overstretched power supply is not unique to them.........The Sunday TimesThe real cost of nimby-ism and privatised short term monetary gain.....?BRITAIN’s biggest manufacturing companies are being told they need to accept power rationing or face blackouts this winter. bvw
The extraordinary development is in response to concerns that a cold winter could lead to blackouts as Britain’s power industry struggles to keep up with demand.Great! :(
Tankus
Long term forecasts are even worse ,due to the lead time needed in the construction of new power plants , and forecasted power consuption is expected to increase......!The "slack " or reserve % in the system compared to peak usage is getting less and less , As it costs to keep a reserve....All it needs is a major tv event to happen on ITV on a particularly cold night ,mid evening , during an advert break.......With the French unable to supply due to problems at their end... Lots of kettles going on , the light's could start going out , as the system goes beyond its maximum capacity, and starts shutting down to protect itself like the domino effect that happened on the eastern seaboard in the states ......
