I just tested Internet explorer 8

and got this 'runonce' upon opening internet, this time it was just called settings something

offcorse i succeded to sett it to remind old webpages, i think its called "suggestion for webbpages"?

just writing www. in the field basicly brings down all favorites i have as suggestion :flowers:

can i disable all such feats without uninstall internet and reinstall and runonce again, on a open webpage

i would suggest the "tools" menu, but it isnt exactley any such settings there as far as i can see

You don't need to runonce again; just change your settings.

Also, you don't need to start typing with 'www'; just start with the domain name (e.g. 'microsoft') to get a useful autocomplete.

I honstely dont see this type of site suggestion settings anywhere, can you help me find them?

right klick on internet explorer and its settings, or "tools" menu on a open website are the 2 alternatives?

the tools menu is a deadend for me personly

There's a Microsoft IE8 Help & Support page at this link: IE8 HELP which deals with some of your questions. I'm sure shortly MS will produce a complete guide to using all IE8's many new features.

You can only mean "add/remove addons"? right

im not sure i even can prove to myself which toolbar i have that is the causer of this

and most interesting is that i dont find any addons in my edit addons list that sounds like a site suggestion toolbar

and i kinda doubt its involved in google toolbar package

i think i must uninstall IE 8 anyway, since i have figured out this beta likes to hangup and crash a bit to mutch compared to IE 7

but going back to IE 7 would allso be pain in the arse, cause it have some weird issue inpact on my computer that accually are locking up my right click cabability with the mouse!!

if i have to many IE flap pages open at same time, a long history but accually not bogus

this is anyhow a hard decision, go back to IE6 perhaps!..but i hate its favorites handling compared to the future

IE8 is no longer in beta; uninstall the beta, then install the official release of IE8: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/Internet-...er/default.aspx

Everything points towards that i just took for granted that IE 8 was a beta, the installer your link points towards i allready have,

the only possibility is that the size of the installer is updated the last 2 days, otherwise its the same i hade

which means that the finall IE8 are crashing to me, but i can live with that for a while, if we can solve the main issue with site suggestion will say

for safety i reinstalled IE8 and got the runonce settins back as bonus, and its no doubt that i unticked the "site suggestion" feat this time

still i get suggestions when typing into the adress field, so it lies

i need an exactley in detail advice where and how i can deactivate this annoying feat

That's probably AutoComplete, not Site Suggest.

Could be, but it seems like it grabs from my favorites, that happend to start with the same letter just,

sites that i have not visited yet with IE8, i do believe that it trashed all temp internet files upon installation

anyhow, i dont find the AutoComplete settings, and i have absolutley not setted it to "ON" accidentely either, it must be this way deafult
