doug
Am trying to convert very old VHS tapes that I have of my family. Have purchased an EasyCap Video capture device. Connected up a tape player through the SCART connector and then onto the EasyCap USB job. I was suprised to find that the video plays OK but I can't get any sound through, when just playing the tape through the Syntek STK1160 device or the Ulead Video Studio SE DVD package. I'm sure I'm not posting all the necessary info but any questions and I'll post replies. Most important Not using a separate sound card but the inbuilt CMI audio package. Boris
The similar devices I have seen I think only worked via RCA or S-Video connectors rather than using a SCART.Which model do you have doug ?
doug
It's a Bush with only a Scart output.

doug
From the player SCART socket connecting via 3 phono plugs to the phono sockets on the EasyCap job. Red to red for the audio ® and black from the player to the White audio (L), then Yellow to the yellow for the CYBS socket.Just wondering - I also have a Logitec Quick Cam recorder also going to a USB port. Looking at the Ulead screen it's showing the Logitek microphone as the input. Do I have a conflict here?Screenshot
Boris
Possibly ?Its probably best to have only one peripheral of a similar type connected at the same time ?
doug
Well an update. Removed the webcam but no improvement. However, I find that I can import the video using Windows Movie Maker - sound works fine, so far. So I've got a bit of a conflict somewhere but never mind for the moment . At least I can start playing about.
